UNAIDS 90-90-90 objectives in 2016 in a third level hospital in Spain: to know the proportion of HIV + patients on follow up, on treatment and with undetectable viral help to design improvement measures
Resumen
Introduction: In 2014 UNAIDS proclaimed the objective 90-90-90 for 2020. From 2014 GESIDA and the Spanish National Aids Strategy recommend Antiretroviral treatment (ART) for all HIV-infected patients, regardless CD4 count. Objectives: To analyze the number of HIV-infected patients on regular follow-up at the HIV outpatient clinic, how many of them were on treatment and how many had the HIV viral load under the detectability limits. Patients and method: Retrospective observational study of 1310 HIV positive patients on follow up at the outpatient HIV clinic of the Miguel Servet Hospital during 2016. We analyzed the following variables: sex, age, lost of follow up, proportion of patients on ART, proportion of them who maintained undetectable viral load. In patients with detectable viral load cause of failure was revised. Results: 70% were males and mean age was 49 years. The 98% of the patients attended regularly the clinic, 96% of them were on ART and 88% of them had undetectable viral load. Conclusion: Most of HIV+ patients on follow up in our Clinic were on ART and almost 90% were undetectable. Starting ART earlier and identify and retain bad adherent patients could be objectives to improve.- Tema:
